The government is getting ready to announce the Energy Pricing Committee’s decision to set the price of gasoline in Egypt in addition to the market price of diesel as the countdown to the announcement of the new energy prices has begun.
In this regard, the Petroleum Price Committee continues its meetings so far to follow up on global changes and study global oil prices and its derivatives first -hand, and it is scheduled to announce the prices of gasoline and diesel that are being worked on during the next three months.
In order to avoid shocking the market and help it adjust to the new pricing, the Petroleum Price Committee has the authority to change the price of gasoline and diesel by an amount not to exceed 10%.
The committee’s goal is to fairly decide the price of gasoline and diesel without placing an additional strain on the state’s general budget due to the high costs experienced worldwide.
According to the Automatic Pricing Committee’s decision, gasoline prices in Egypt are adjusted every three months.
