Ikram continued, “I trained and laboured hard in my father’s workshop for a full year. After completing my training, I began working in my own private workshop. However, the biggest challenge I faced was when I noticed surprise and even rage in the eyes of some of my male customers, especially given that I live and work in a rural area.
Ikram said, “My choice to take the torch from my father and disrespect the blacksmith was decisive, and I had to deal with the society’s startling reaction, which eventually changed to respect and appreciation. Thus, I had the confidence of many of them and entered their homes to design the figures of their iron accessories, their doors and windows, and the “Queen of Al -Haddada” workshops became famous in my region and in the entire Tunisia and I got job offers through communication platforms.
Ikram continued: “My success did not discourage me from continuing to learn and track everything that is modern in blacksmithing and welding, and today I can confirm that after three years in this profession I exceeded the difficult beginnings and turned the looks of rejection and booing into respect and admiration and gained the confidence of many in a profession that was considered men and arduously thanks Determination and persistence. ” It is located inside the blacksmithing business.
