The bombing of the Crimean bridge on Saturday has been attributed to the Ukrainian secret agencies, according to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
According to the Russian “Novosti” news agency, the Russian President stated today, Sunday, “The operation to bomb the Crimean Bridge was carried out by the Ukrainian intelligence services… and that the terrorist act, which targeted the Crimean Bridge, was aimed at destroying the country’s infrastructure.
The Russian Investigative Committee, for its part, asserted that Ukraine was in charge of planning the terrorist attack on the Crimean Bridge.
A truck bomb exploded on the Crimean Bridge yesterday, on Saturday, and 7 gasoline tanks on a train that was passing by caught fire. This explosion caused two parts of the bridge to collapse, however the pillars remained unharmed.
Although rail movement has returned and some traffic on the bridge was partially restored last night for automobiles only, trucks and buses still need to use boats to get around.
The truck bomb that exploded over the bridge was owned by a citizen of the southern Russian region of Krasnodar, according to the Russian Investigative Committee, which also noted that three persons died in the blast.
