A Ukrainian “implicit” confession to the Crimean bridge attack, and tension is increasing

A key advisor to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Mikhailo Podoloyak, called the bombing of the Great Crimean Bridge on Saturday a “beginning,” adding in a tweet: “Everything illegal must be eliminated.”
The Ukrainian government did not immediately issue an official statement regarding the explosion, but in an attempt to make fun of the operation, the official government “Twitter” account published a post that read simply, “burn a patient.

The strike on the bridge was carried out by Ukrainian special forces, a Ukrainian government official informed the “Washington Post” in the same context.
The SBU was behind the attack, according to a law enforcement official quoted in the first report on Ukraine’s involvement in it by the news website Ukrainska Pravda.

Previously, Ukraine has carried out daring incursions deep into Russian-controlled territory, including strikes on a Crimean air base and against military targets in the Belgorod region of Russia.
The bridge explosion, though, would be Ukraine’s biggest-ever attack if it turns out to be a planned operation.
Russian officials have long threatened to respond forcefully to any attacks on their territory.

At a time when Russian President Vladimir Putin and others around him have repeatedly threatened that Russia may use nuclear weapons, the explosion adds a new element of anxiety to the fight.
In a similar development, the Verkhovna Rada tweeted a picture of the collapsed bridge along with the message, “Crimea, long time no see.
According to the head of Ukraine’s postal services, the company will soon release a new stamp that features a broken bridge with the words “Crimean bridge – done” engraved on it.

The Russian Foreign Ministry’s spokeswoman, Maria Zakharova, responded to the flurry of satirical messages on social media. Zakharova posted on Telegram that “the Kyiv regime’s response to the destruction of civilian infrastructure demonstrates its terrorist nature.”

tension is rising as a result of a Ukrainian “implicit” admission to the Crimean bridge attack.
