France .. Renewed strikes at the refineries of two oil companies

According to the General Union of Workers, the strike movements at the oil companies “TotalEnergies” and “Esso-ExxonMobil” (American) resumed on Saturday. These strikes had previously damaged many French refineries and fuel depots.
Three of the six French refineries, including the largest refinery in Normandy owned by TotalEnergies and two refineries that belonged to the US corporation Esso-ExxonMobil, are still shuttered, according to CGT.

“Approximately 70% of the strikers are us, according to Christophe Aubert, ExxonMobil’s CGT-elect. “Nothing comes out there, and it’s the same staff all weekend, so you shouldn’t move,”
Additionally, Pedro Afonso, a CGT delegate, informed AFP that around 6:00 am, there were 100% of the strikers in the cargo area at the TotalEnergies refinery in Fayazin (Rhone).
Added he, “There are typically between 30 and 50 cars and 250 to 300 trucks per day, but nothing is released.

even if the refinery keeps running.”
Strikers have recently mobilised heavily at the Flanders fuel depot, close to Dunkirk (North), in a “bio refinery,” and at the Grandpuits fuel depot in Seine-et-Marne in particular, at the French energy company, in addition to its “Normandy” refinery, to limit the outflow of petroleum products as much as possible, according to CGT.
However, according to TotalEnergies, the Grandpuits fuel storage is closed on weekends.

With TotalEnergies operating over a third of French stations, the blockade by strikers results in lower fuel supplies, which frequently causes gas stations to run out of gasoline or diesel.
