Elon Musk presents a proposal to solve the “China-Taiwan” crisis… What did he say?

Musk, the richest man in the world, told the Financial Times in an interview that was published on Friday, “My plan is to declare a special administrative region for Taiwan, which is relatively tolerable, and probably not everyone would like.
Musk made his remarks in answer to a media query regarding China, the country where his electric car company, Tesla, operates a sizable facility in Shanghai.

The publication quoted Musk as stating, “It’s plausible, and I think it’s quite likely that they have a much more forgiving setup than (in) Hong Kong.”
Musk expressed his belief that a dispute over Taiwan was unavoidable and foresaw the potential effects it could have not only on Tesla but also on Apple and the economy at large.
The specifics of these assertions were not discussed in the interview.

Beijing has promised to annex Taiwan and hasn’t ruled out using force to do it. Beijing claims Taiwan is one of its provinces.
The 23 million people who live on the island alone can decide its future, according to Taiwan’s government, which vehemently rejects China’s claims to sovereignty.

Musk proposed this week that Ukraine hand over Crimea to Russia permanently, that fresh UN-sponsored referendums be held to decide what would happen to the Russian-controlled territories, and that Ukraine consent to being neutral.
Volodymyr Zelensky, the president of Ukraine, criticised Musk harshly after he asked Twitter users what they thought of his idea.
