Canada bans 10,000 Iranian officials from entering its territory

Canada declared that it would impose sanctions on 10,000 Iranian officials, including Revolutionary Guards personnel, including a permanent entry restriction.

In a tweet on Friday, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau reaffirmed his support for Iranians who have been protesting for three weeks, saying that “it is a measure that has only been resorted to in the most dangerous circumstances against regimes that commit war crimes or genocide, as in Bosnia and Rwanda.”

Trudeau continued by saying that his government is employing the strongest tools at its disposal to battle the barbaric Iranian dictatorship and that it continues to violate human rights.

10,000 Iranian government personnel are prohibited from entering Canada.
