Diet drinks “harm brain function and increase the risk of memory loss”!

More and more studies show that artificial sweeteners used in “diet drinks” have “awful” consequences on health.
Additionally, a recent study discovered that teenagers who consume artificial sweeteners later in life may experience severe long-term memory issues.
Artificial sweeteners slow down the metabolism, which may possibly raise the chance of developing diabetes, according to US researchers. Additionally, sweeteners may reduce the sensitivity of taste buds to sugar.

The study, which was published in the journal JCI Insight, came to the conclusion that this can lead people to consume more sugary foods and beverages in order to enjoy the sweet flavour.
Young mice were subjected to tests by researchers from the University of Southern California’s Dorncife College of Arts, Arts, and Sciences, and it was discovered that their long-term memory was impaired after consuming low-calorie sweeteners like saccharin, ACE-K, and stevia (which are frequently found in diet beverages).

Since the studies were conducted on mice, the researchers noted that we cannot claim with certainty that this impacts humans in the same way.
The study does, however, show that youth who use these diet beverages may experience memory problems in the future.

“While our findings do not necessarily imply that a person should not consume low-calorie sweeteners in general, they do highlight that the typical consumption of low-calorie sweeteners Heat during early life may have unintended and long-term effects,” said study co-author Professor Scott Kanosky from the University of Southern California.
Mice were given water that had been sweetened during the trial using a variety of low-calorie sugar substitutes, such as stevia, ACE-K, and saccharin.

While another set of mice got only ordinary water along with their chow.
The mice had become adults after a month, and the researchers tested their memory in two separate ways.
The experiments revealed that mice who grew up drinking sweetened beverages had a harder time passing memory tests than mice who simply drank plain water.
According to the researchers, the mice were given “just one sweetener” at amounts that were “appropriate daily levels” for them.

Because they couldn’t do the experiment on humans, it was as realistic as possible, and the findings showed that taking a reasonable amount of the sweetener had adverse effects.
