Significant improvement in Ukraine’s grain exports in October

Despite the Russian invasion and the closing of numerous ports, data from the Ukrainian Ministry of Agriculture revealed today, Thursday, that the country’s grain exports in the first five days of October were only 20.5% lower than they had been during the same period in 2021.
Since February, the nation’s grain exports have drastically decreased as a result of the war’s closure of Ukraine’s Black Sea ports, which has caused food prices to soar globally and stoked concerns about shortages in Africa and the Middle East.

A deal between Moscow and Kiev was mediated by the UN and Turkey, and three ports on the Black Sea were opened at the end of July.
According to ministry data, Ukraine has so far exported 468,000 tonnes of grain, predominantly corn, in October, down from 589,000 tonnes during the same period in 2021.
The information also revealed that Ukraine has so far exported 9. 17 million tonnes of grain during the 2022–2023 season, down from 14.

95 million tonnes were produced throughout the same time period in 2021–2022.
3. 2 million tonnes of wheat, 5. 1 million tonnes of maize, and 823,000 tonnes of barley make up the volume for this season.

Ukraine’s grain exports significantly increased in October.
