Germany pledges ten million euros in additional aid to Pakistan to overcome the effects of the floods

With an additional 10 million euros, Germany has promised to assist Pakistan in recovering from the disastrous flood tragedy.
German Foreign Minister Annalina Birbock announced today, Friday, that the German government has already given 50 million euros in humanitarian help and support for infrastructure restoration following discussions with Pakistani Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari in Berlin.

“We will now contribute an additional ten million euros for emergency care, notably injuries to children and young people,” Birbock continued. “In light of the horrific human suffering.”
According to Bierbock, the monsoon had flooded an area about the size of Germany, indicating that many of the locals were now afflicted with diseases like malaria.

According to Bierbock, the floods showed the catastrophic effects of the climate problem in every corner of the world, and he continued, “Pakistan has paid a heavy price for global carbon dioxide emissions.” Germany will thus demand a just allocation of the costs associated with climate change at the World Climate Conference in Egypt in November.

The foreign minister of Pakistan, Zardai, noted that Pakistan is among the ten nations most impacted by climate change and that 33 million people, including 16 million children and 600,000 pregnant women, have been harmed.
In addition to thanking Germany for its assistance, Zardari Birbock urged the Minister to keep taking the lead in the battle against climate change.
In the middle of June, Pakistan saw the worst floods in its history, which resulted in the deaths of close to 1,700 people.

During the crisis, a third of the country’s territory was inundated, and many highways, schools, hospitals, and agricultural areas were also affected.

Germany promises Pakistan an additional ten million euros in aid to help the country recover from the floods.
