WhatsApp may block a popular feature from millions of users

According to RT, the “WhatsApp” programme included a new feature called “One Time View” last year that enables users to communicate images and videos that vanish after being viewed, much like “Snapchat” and “Instagram.”
The firm, which is now owned by Meta, intends to enhance this function by forbidding users from taking screenshots and screen captures of images and videos received via the “one-time view” feature.

The Mark Zuckerberg-owned corporation first stated that it would forbid millions of users of its application on Android and iPhone devices from taking “screenshots” of “one-time viewing” messages, but it has since made the feature available as a test for a small number of users.
Technology specialists at WABetaInfo discovered this functionality in the Android beta version of WhatsApp, therefore users of the beta version will be able to test it out.

According to WABetaInfo, when you attempt to take a screenshot, the photos will be entirely black, and for some users, the screenshot feature may be lost altogether.
The new function, according to the website, has some intriguing elements, such as the fact that the sender won’t be notified if an effort is made to take a screenshot but is unsuccessful.
However, it is conceivable for someone to really capture the screen using a phone’s camera or another gadget. There’s no way to find out about this.

When the screenshot prohibition will be implemented in WhatsApp’s public version is currently unknown.

Millions of users of WhatsApp may have a popular feature blocked.
