Full details of the docking of a SpaceX spacecraft to the International Station

Four astronauts were aboard the SpaceX Dragon spacecraft as it arrived at the International Space Station and docked with the facility. According to the Xinhua news agency, the Crew Dragon spacecraft and SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket departed from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida on Wednesday at noon ET and docked with the International Space Station at 5 p. m. ET on Thursday.

After the doors were opened, the four astronauts—Americans Nicole Mann and Josh Cassada, Japanese astronaut Koichi Wakata, and Russian Anna Kekina—moved to the International Space Station to join the crew of Long Flight 68, which also included the European Samantha Cristoforetti and the Russians Sergei Prokopyev and Dmitri Petlin. With this, there are now 11 astronauts on board the International Space Station.

According to SpaceX, the crew will carry out more than 200 scientific research and technological trials during their stay in the orbiting laboratory in fields including human health and lunar fuel systems.
