US National Security Council: China’s decision to stop cooperation with Washington is irresponsible

The US has criticised China’s decision to suspend cooperation in a variety of areas, including climate change.
In reaction to US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s travel to Taiwan, Chinese authorities decided to restrict cooperation with the US in various sectors.

I’m sure you’ve all seen China’s pronouncements today about terminating business with the US on a variety of vital subjects, including climate change, said National Security Council spokesman John Kirby.
This, we feel, is irresponsible.
According to a statement issued on the Chinese Foreign Ministry’s website, Beijing will cease climate change discussions with Washington.

China would also halt cooperation with the US on repatriation of illegal immigrants, criminal legal assistance concerns, countering cross-border crime, and drug-fighting cooperation.
Furthermore, China cancelled a working meeting between Chinese Ministry of Defense and US personnel.

China’s decision to halt cooperation with the US is reckless, according to the US National Security Council.
