Lavrov: The West bears responsibility for supplying the Kyiv regime with weapons

RUSSIA – Volodymyr Zelensky, the president of Ukraine, recommended that NATO launch preemptive strikes against Russia in his remarks, which, according to Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, “emphasises the need” for what he called a “special operation” in Ukraine.
In a conversation with the Australian think tank Lowy Institute, Zelensky expressed his opinion that the strikes were essential to preventing the use of nuclear weapons.

He made no mention of the specific type of strikes he intended to use or the necessity for nuclear retaliation.
He emphasised that the West is accountable for arming the Kyiv government by pointing out that NATO supports the Ukrainian president’s efforts to fight Russia and impose hegemony.
Lavrov emphasised that Russia’s position on nuclear deterrence has not changed, saying “We warned NATO countries of the risks of providing Ukraine with weapons.”

Zelensky requested continued military support for Kyiv in front of the assembled European leaders in Prague so that “Russian tanks do not push into Warsaw or Prague.”
Additionally, Zelensky urged NATO nations to attack Russia without waiting for Russian nuclear strikes, saying that the Russian president would not be able to defend himself if he utilised nuclear weapons.

Speaking on behalf of Moscow, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated that the Ukrainian president’s remarks were “nothing but an incitement to start a new world war with cruel and unexpected consequences.”
However, Kiev was unambiguous in saying that its president was referring to preventive sanctions rather than nuclear strikes.

Maria Zakharova, a spokeswoman for the Russian foreign ministry, said that Vladimir Zelensky, who is now fully equipped and has transformed into a monster, is being used by the West to start a nuclear war that might end the world.
