The Russian ambassador in Rome on the “Northern Stream” incident: There are no idiots among us

Sergey Razov, the Russian ambassador in Rome, denied claims that his country was responsible for the attempted damage of the Russian “Northern Stream” gas pipelines in the Baltic Sea.
The envoy stated in an interview with the Italian television station “Rai 1” that “Now these claims come about that the Russians blew up their own gas pipeline.

“”I understand that people may have various perceptions about Russians and Russia’s leaders as a result of anti-Russian propaganda, but I tell them that there are no idiots among us,” he continued.
Razov said in response to the European Union’s intentions to stop utilising Russian gas that he “does not understand what the problem with Russian gas is.”
He clarified, “We have been consistently sending gas to Europe and Italy without any issues for the past 50 years. We were prepared to keep up the supplies.

Later, however, Italy and its allies made the decision to stop relying on Russian gas. You get to decide; it’s not our call.
It is significant that on September 26, an act of sabotage caused gas to spill from the Russian “North Stream” and “North Stream 2” gas pipelines.

There are no fools among us, said the Russian envoy to Rome regarding the “Northern Stream” issue.
