Al-Madina News: The US Department of Defense (the Pentagon) said today, Thursday, that the US State Department has given its approval to a potential contract to sell Kuwait a surface-to-air missile system, a medium-range air defence system, and related equipment in a deal valued at $3 billion.
The planned agreement, according to the ministry, “would strengthen Kuwait’s capacity to combat present and future threats by boosting its capacity to protect itself against regionally active hostile forces and by enhancing compatibility with systems used by Amiri forces and other Gulf states.”
Raytheon Missile and Defense Corporation would be the main contractor, according to the Pentagon.
