Macron vows to talk tough about gas prices with the G7

According to Bloomberg News, French President Emmanuel Macron suggested that European nations should join Asian economies in urging Norway and the United States to demonstrate their goodwill by selling gas at reduced rates.
In a speech delivered to a gathering of businesses in Paris today, Thursday, Macron claimed that while the nations imposing sanctions on Russia for its invasion of Ukraine are united as “freedom fighters,” they are split into producers and consumers of fossil resources.

“In the spirit of great friendship, we shall tell our American and Norwegian friends: “You are fantastic because you give us energy and gas, but there is one thing that cannot persist for long: paying four times the price at which you sell to your industry.” That isn’t the true definition of friendship.”
Macron said that France plans to particularly bring up the issue with the Group of Seven.

Macron promises to address gas costs directly with the G7.
