Novak: Russia and Turkey have transferred some payments for Russian gas to the ruble

Alexander Novak, the deputy prime minister of Russia, announced that a portion of the payments for the cost of the sale of Russian gas to Turkey had been converted to rubles.
I can now comment and indicate that some of the accounts have been changed to rubles, Novak continued.
When questioned if Turkey had requested a special gas price break from Russia, Novak remained silent and emphasised that this was a business problem between the seller and the buyer.

It is notable that President Vladimir Putin and Recep Tayyip Erdogan spoke on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit on September 16 and that President Putin declared that Ankara had agreed to pay 25% of Russian gas supply in rubles.

A few days later, the agreement to pay 25% of Russian gas supply in rubles would go into effect, according to Turkish Energy and Natural Resources Minister Fatih Donmez.
