The “energy sobriety plan” is a set of actions that will help France “get through the next winter,” no matter how harsh it may be, according to French President Emmanuel Macron. He has urged the French, particularly businesses, to put these measures into action right away.
These remarks were made today at a meeting between President Macron and businesspeople at BB France Inno Generation (Big) in the French capital, Paris, according to French news outlet France Info TV.
The sobriety plan that the French government will present later today was defended by the president of France.
The French president stated that his country will persuade the Europeans to adopt a common ceiling mechanism for gas prices used in the production of electricity during the European Council meeting scheduled for October 20–21 in Brussels, explaining that some groups Big are already investing “a lot of money” to reduce coal and gas use and implement hydrogen or carbon capture systems.
