Female university students lead the Iranian uprising

Following the murder of Mahsa Amini, Iranian students have taken the lead in nationwide protests, organising quick-fire demonstrations in defiance of the security forces’ bloody assault.
The death of Mahsa Amini sparked protests and marches in favour of Iranian women all around Iran. The protests persisted despite a security crackdown that resulted in hundreds of people being jailed and many fatalities.

At Iran’s top university for science and technology, Sharif University of Technology in Tehran, students protested on Sunday night before escaping into a parking garage underground while being chased by police.
Across the country, students continued to demonstrate against the government and criticise inaccurate depictions of religious leaders.

On Monday, a group of young women outside a school in Karaj, west of Tehran, yelled “Death to the dictator,” a reference to Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, and assaulted an official, who was apparently the principal.

Female university students in Iran are in charge of protests.
