The Ukrainian army continues to advance in the territories occupied by Russia

While the Kremlin declared that it still intended to retake the territory it lost in the Ukrainian territories it annexed, Kyiv recently achieved military victories over the Russian army in the country’s east.
A breach was reported on Wednesday by the Ukrainian governor of the eastern region of Luhansk, which up until this point had been entirely under Moscow’s control.
The process of ending the occupation of the Lugansk region has begun now that it is official.

In a video sent on Telegram, Sergey Gaidai said that “many towns were liberated from the control of the Russian army.
Now that nearly the entire Kharkiv region in the northeast is under Ukrainian control, Luhansk, the separatist stronghold Moscow positioned there since 2014, can move in. In the northern part of the southern Kherson area, Ukraine announced a breach on Tuesday.

Vladimir Putin signed a bill on Wednesday formally annexing Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson, and Zaporizhia to the Russian Federation after a month of military defeats and the announcement that thousands of Russian reservists would be called up.
His spokesperson, Dmitry Peskov, emphasised that these areas will continue to be part of Russia “forever” and that Moscow will quickly retake the territory it lost a month ago.

During his routine press conference, he made sure to emphasise that these territories “will be recovered.”
Putin had threatened to use nuclear weapons to defend the annexation zones, but his threat was ineffective in stopping the Ukrainian response or the delivery of Western arms.
On Tuesday, the Russian army issued maps of the areas it controls and announced the withdrawal of its troops.

They show that Moscow abandoned the last area of Kharkiv under its control, including a sizable piece of the northern Kherson district and the east bank of the Oskil River.

The Ukrainian army keeps making progress in the areas that Russia occupies.
