At least 15 migrants die in shipwreck off Greek island

The Greek coast guard said that at least 15 persons perished in the second migrant-related maritime tragedy since Wednesday when their ship capsized early on Thursday morning off the Greek island of Lesbos in the central Aegean.
According to the coast guard, the sinking boat was carrying roughly 40 people, and five of them have already been saved.
He stated that 15 bodies have been discovered, leaving roughly 20 persons unaccounted for. East of the Lesbos island, not far from the Turkish shore, the boat sank.

Strong gusts were blowing in the vicinity, so the Greek coast guard ship and an air force aircraft sped to conduct search and rescue operations.
The wider Lesbian coast has been searched for potential migrants who may have made it to the coasts. In a secluded location, three persons were discovered stranded.
Earlier on Wednesday, 30 migrants were saved by Greek officials when their boat capsized after hitting a rocky region in rough seas close to the island of Kythira in southern Greece.
