Malaysian Prime Minister may propose to dissolve parliament

According to Malaysian news agency Bernama, Malaysian Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaqoub would suggest a date to dissolve parliament during their meeting with the king on Thursday.
According to the official agency, the conference will primarily be devoted to cabinet affairs, and if there is time, a proposed date will be offered to the king.

After the “United Malay National Organization” (AMNO) leadership agreed last week that parliament should be dissolved shortly, Ismail is now facing calls for early elections this year.
According to AMNO leaders, the king should be given a date for dissolving parliament by the prime minister, who also serves as the party’s vice chairman, according to Bloomberg News.
The 2023 budget will be presented to Parliament by his government on Friday.

The budget plan will be presented as scheduled, a Finance Ministry spokeswoman confirmed earlier this week, despite local media rumours that Parliament may be dissolved prematurely.
