An armed Lebanese man storms a bank and takes hostages to get his deposit

In order to retrieve his deposit, a gunman raided a bank in southern Lebanon on Thursday and grabbed hostages.
The “Mediterranean Bank” in Nabatiyeh is reportedly being raided by an armed individual from the city of Nabatiyeh today, who is holding staff hostage and demanding its deposit of roughly $150,000, according to the “National News Agency.”
The organisation claims that there are different security measures in place around the bank.

Notably, due to the financial crisis, banks in Lebanon began to place limitations on withdrawals and financial transfers from the start of 2020, preventing depositors from accessing their savings.
In September, the occurrence of bank storming by many depositors recurred. They seized workers and demanded their deposits, and some of them were granted.

For a week, banks were closed as they condemned and denounced what had occurred and took steps to stop it from happening again.
