The Thai government issued a warning to people on Wednesday over the potential for dangerous flooding in the nation’s capital, Bangkok, and the country’s central regions as a result of the heavy monsoon rains anticipated this week.

Given that Bangkok has been experiencing flooding as a result of monsoon rains since Monday, the deputy governor of “Bangkok” stated that many areas will be vulnerable to flooding if it rains heavily in the upcoming days. This is because some rivers in the country’s north have already reached high water levels due to the filling of dams.

The authorities also announced taking many measures to deal with the floods, including placing sandbags on the banks of rivers, equipping water pumps, and preparing military trucks to transport people, according to the Singaporean channel “Channel News Asia”.
The network added that more than 41,000 families were affected by the floods in 22 provinces, that at least four dams had exceeded their storage area, and the water in many others was approaching dangerous levels.
