According to the Russian publication Komsomolskaya Pravda, US analyst Sutton predicted that Russia’s employment of the stealthy Poseidon torpedo would alter the tactics and strategy of modern underwater warfare.
According to a Russian tabloid, the American and British lake forces lack torpedoes that can hit the Russian torpedo, giving Poseidon immunity and leaving the Western fleets essentially defenceless against the new Russian weapons.
The two multipurpose Russian nuclear submarines “Belgorod” and “Khabarovsk” each have six of these unmanned torpedoes, according to the Russian publication.
And Komsomolskaya Pravda revealed that these two submarines can circle the globe and reach a location close to the western or eastern shores of America, and launch Poseidon torpedoes to a depth of one kilometre where it is impossible to hit, all while travelling at a depth of 500 metres without making any noise thanks to a secret propeller design.
According to the newspaper, Poseidon can strike aircraft carriers, submarines, and naval ships from a range of up to infinity thanks to its nuclear engine. It can also approach its target at a speed of 200 km while remaining completely silent on the ocean floor while awaiting an order from Khabarovsk or Belgorod submarines.
Poseidon was reportedly the original name of the Greek sea god, and its origins may be traced to Greek culture.
And the Italian tabloid La Repubblica raised the alarm, citing a source from NATO intelligence, which claimed that Putin is on the verge of posing another threat to the West since his stealthy Poseidon torpedoes are equipped with battle warheads with a 100 megaton of strength. This thermonuclear torpedo may launch waves 500 metres high, wiping out Britain and leaving behind nothing but a radioactive wasteland in its wake.
According to Russia Today, this frightening cyclone might also wipe out important cities like New York and Los Angeles.
According to an intelligence report, US Defense Department officials worry that Russian President Vladimir Putin may demonstrate his military prowess by testing a massive nuclear torpedo known as Poseidon. NATO has also warned its members and allies that the Kremlin is preparing to test so-called torpedo planes, according to the intelligence report.
“Doomsday,” a top British defence source called it on Monday, according to The Times of London.
