Thailand approves 16.7 billion baht loan scheme for railways

The Thai Cabinet has given the Thai Railways Authority permission to borrow 16.7 billion baht in order to increase its liquidity.
According to a government statement released today, Wednesday, Bloomberg News Agency today, 15. 2 billion baht of the total will be used to ease the authority’s cash crisis, and 1. 5 billion baht would be a short-term loan for urgent needs.
The loans will be guaranteed by the ministry of finance, which will also research the borrowing strategy.
