California serial killer ‘on a mission’ in slayings, police say

Since last year, a California serial killer who has killed six men and injured one woman by shooting them appeared to be “on a mission” throughout this period.
Ballistics tests and some video evidence, according to police, connected two incidents that occurred around 110 kilometres apart in Oakland and Stockton.

We are unsure of the driving force. According to Stockton Police Chief Stanley McFadden, “What we do believe is that it is mission-oriented.” This person has a purpose in mind.”
The first shooting fatality occurred in Oakland in April 2021.

Days later, the woman was hurt in Stockton. After more than a year, the five murders in Stockton happened between July 8 and September 27, all within a few square miles, according to authorities.
McFadden made a passing mention of a single pistol during the news conference, despite the fact that police would not confirm if all seven shootings had involved the same weapon.

Between the shootings in April 2021 and the initial incident this summer, “I have absolutely no answer as to why that pistol stayed inactive for over 400 days,” the chief added.
Five men were ambushed and shot to death in Stockton last week, according to authorities, who reported the incident last week. Police announced yesterday that the two additional cases from the previous year were connected to those murders.

Although a person of interest is being sought in connection with the killings because they may be seen on camera at a number of the murder locations, McFadden said there is no concrete evidence connecting them to the shootings. Some of the victims, according to him, were homeless and some weren’t.
A US$125,000 (NZ$216,500) reward is offered for information that results in an arrest. Police are receiving hundreds of leads every day and submitting additional evidence in case the recent rash of shootings might be linked to other crimes in the state.

On April 10, 2021, at about 4.15 a.m. (local time), Juan Vasquez Serrano, 39, was the target of the first murder in Oakland. According to the Alameda County Coroner’s Bureau, he had several gunshot wounds. It wasn’t immediately obvious if he was killed by anyone else.
In the non-fatal attack, the 46-year-old woman informed police that on April 16, 2021, about 3:20 am, she heard someone roaming around outside while she was inside her tent.

“When she came out of her tent, she encountered someone holding a gun,” McFadden said.
The suspect fired multiple shots, wounding the woman, but she tried to defend herself by advancing toward her attacker, the chief said. The shooter lowered the gun.
“She said there were no words mentioned at all,” McFadden said.
The woman described the attacker as wearing a dark-coloured hooded sweatshirt with the hood pulled up, dark-coloured pants and an all-black Covid-style face mask.

According to Stockton Police Officer Joseph Silva, none of the males in the tragic Stockton cases were beaten or robbed prior to being killed, and none appeared to know one another. Additionally, there is no evidence linking the shootings to gangs or drug use.

The Stockton victims were identified by the San Joaquin County Office of the Medical Examiner as Paul Yaw, 35, who passed away on July 8; Salvador Debudey Jr., 43; Jonathan Hernandez Rodriguez, 21; Juan Cruz, 52; and Lawrence Lopez Sr., 54; who passed away on August 11; August 11; September 21; and September 27.
In a neighbourhood to the north of the city centre, Lopez was shot just before two in the morning.

His brother, Jerry Lopez, told KXTV-TV that he “was just a person who was out here at the wrong place, at the wrong time, and in the wrong condition.”
It’s challenging to comprehend what has transpired.
The violence may potentially involve more than one person.
Sincerely, Silva said, “We just don’t know.” “This individual or individuals who are out in public acting in such a blatant and bold manner.

Four of the Stockton homicide victims were reportedly strolling alone when they were killed, and a fifth victim was reportedly in a parked automobile. A 320,000-person metropolis, Stockton is located 80 kilometres south of Sacramento, the state capital.

Police claim a serial killer in California is “on a mission” to kill people.
