Zelensky: We liberated dozens of towns in Kherson and Kharkiv

In addition to taking back “dozens” of towns from the Russians this week in the south and east, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky acknowledged that his army is moving “rapidly and strongly” in the south.
In his daily statement shared on social media, he said, “Within the framework of the ongoing defence operation, the Ukrainian army is moving swiftly and powerfully in the south of the nation.”

We liberated dozens of population centres this week alone, he added, saying that they were in the Kherson, Kharkiv, Lugansk, and Donetsk regions.
According to maps released by the Russian Defense Ministry, which show the most recent victories of the Ukrainian counteroffensive in the territories occupied by Moscow, Zelensky’s remarks were made as the Russian army was retreating on Tuesday in the Kharkiv region (northeast) and also in the Kherson region (south).

Russian withdrawal
Comparing these maps to those released the day before, it was clear that Russian soldiers left many locations, including Dudchane, which is situated on the western bank of the Dnieper River, while the Ukrainian army started a counterattack there.
While estimates from the West and Ukraine place the number of Russian forces stationed in this area at around 20,000.

In order to cut off the Russian supply lines, the Ukrainian troops have recently concentrated their fire on Russian fortifications and warehouses on the right bank of the Dnieper River as well as on the bridges extending on this river.
Moscow made no remarks.
The eastern bank of the Oskil River, the remaining territory that Russian soldiers still held in the area, was nearly entirely abandoned, according to the map of the Kharkiv region in northeastern Ukraine.

However, neither a withdrawal announcement nor a statement regarding the retreat indicated by the maps have been released by the Russian military.
