The An-26 aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces avoided a collision with two American drones in the skies in northern Syria, according to Oleg Egorov, deputy head of the Russian Center for Reconciliation in Syria. Unauthorized drones carrying weapons are operating in Syrian Arab Republic airspace.
He claims that the mishap happened on October 3 at 4:25 GMT when the An-26, which was transporting military supplies to Russian group forces, had to avoid hitting American MQ-9 and “MQ-1” drones in northern Syria.
Egorov pointed out that this is not the first instance in which the US military has broken the terms of the Memorandum of Understanding regarding preventing mishaps and guaranteeing flight safety while conducting operations in Syria.
