The Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, Dr. Ali Al-Moselhi, announced that he instructed the Holding Company for Food Industries to continue daily deliveries of the Prophet’s Birthday candies into shopping centres at affordable prices for all.
According to a statement made by Al-Wazzah today, the Minister of Supply receives a report from the Holding Company for Food Industries every day that includes information on the proportion of food commodities that are also pumped into the complexes on the Prophet’s birthday.
According to the research, which also notes that the Holding Company for Food Industries delivers daily consumer complexes in response to customer demand, each complex pumps out an average of 250 packages per day, weighing between one and three kilogrammes and two kilogrammes.
According to Ahmed Kamal, the ministry’s official spokesman, birthday cakes cost 65 pounds per kilo, 145 pounds for a two-kg box, and 230 pounds for a three-kg package at consumer complexes.
Kamal emphasised that the Holding Company for Food Industries pumps daily substantial amounts of other commodities, with reductions of up to 30%. He also noted that the mechanisation of consumer complexes has allowed the follow-up of incoming and outgoing commodities, which has enabled the holding company to follow up the balance in each consumer complex.
