The Netherlands sets the maximum price for electricity and gas for consumers

The Dutch Cabinet announced its intention to set a maximum price for electricity and gas sold to consumers today, Tuesday, in response to the spike in energy costs across the old continent.
In a statement released today, the Dutch government stated that the maximum price for gas will be 1.45 euros per cubic metre and the maximum price for electricity will be 0.40 euros per kilowatt-hour.

She emphasised that the annual maximum use shouldn’t exceed 1,200 cubic metres of gas and 2,900 kilowatt hours of electricity.
Following the start of the special military operation in Ukraine, the West intensified its pressure on Russia through sanctions, which raised the cost of food, fuel, and power in Europe and the US.

The maximum electricity and gas prices for consumers are determined in the Netherlands.
