NATO conducts integration training for fifth generation fighters

With personnel from Belgium, Denmark, France, Spain, and the United States, the NATO Tactical Command Programme, also known as the Pilot School, conducted the third flight course with the goal of achieving continuous integration and integration of fifth generation combat aircraft into standard tactics, techniques, and procedures.

According to a statement from the NATO Information Office, the tactical school, which is based in the Spanish city of Albacete, took over the flight course for the years 2022–2023, which started on September 12 and ran until last September 30. Approximately 700 personnel, including 32 pilots, participated in the course.

After a week of intensive academic activity and simulation flights, in which an intelligence officer and an air traffic controller also graduated, the participants started the direct flight phase.

According to Colonel Alberto Martinez, the commander of the Tactical Command Program, the F-35’s participation in this training is crucial for learning useful lessons about how to integrate the fourth- and fifth-generation platforms, which is the first pillar of the program’s strategy.
It is significant that the Tactical Command Program is a global military alliance made up of invited nations from outside NATO, the remaining NATO members, and 10 permanent members.

Fifth-generation fighters are subjected to NATO integration training.
