Former Bulgarian Prime Minister Borisov gets a chance to become prime minister for the fourth time

After official election results on Monday proved that his pro-Western party got the most votes in the parliamentary elections, Boyko Borissov, Bulgaria’s three-time former prime minister, appeared to have a chance to win re-election.
The center-right “Gerp” (Citizens for European Development in Bulgaria) party, to which Borisov belongs, received 25.37 percent of the vote, according to the findings. With 20.21 percent of the vote, the party of the incumbent prime minister Kirill Petkov placed second.

The final results should be available within a week.
After one of the coalition members left the government in June of last year, Petkov’s coalition failed a vote of confidence. Petkov, who had been in government for six months, charged Borisov’s party with influencing politics at the same time. The nation had to have its fourth election in a year and a half as a result of this circumstance.

As Petkov’s BP party already ruled out any potential collaboration with Gerb before the elections, accusing it of corruption, it is still unclear how Bulgaria’s future administration will look.
Seven parties managed to surpass the 4% threshold needed to enter parliament, according to preliminary data. The pro-Russian nationalist Varazdan “Revival” party, which was the newest in the last parliament, is one of these groups. with 10 now.

It will move up to the fourth-largest position in the parliament with 17 percent of the vote.

Former Bulgarian Prime Minister Borisov has the opportunity to serve as leader for a fourth time.
