Trace admits tax cut plan ‘no better prepared’

Before confronting her irate party at the annual Conservative conference, British Prime Minister Liz Truss acknowledged she had to “make better” for the tax-cut plan that has created market turbulence. A little over a month after taking office, she talked to the BBC on Sunday from Birmingham in central England. She also emphasised that her contentious policies will revive Britain’s economy, which is now experiencing decades-long records of inflation and an impending recession.

Trace remarked, adding that she had “learned” from the incident. “I remain to the package we announced, but I accept that we should have prepared better. We have a clear plan for how we’re going to deal with the energy problem, inflation, and long-term economic growth, she continued.

Tax cut scheme is “no better prepared,” Trace concedes.
