Twitter scandal.. Advertisements for the sexual exploitation of children

According to Reuters, the decision to ban the advertisements was made in response to demands on the website for child porn.
In a research on online child sex abuse, the cybersecurity firm Just Data discovered that accounts advocating child sex exploitation had advertisements for more than 30 businesses, including Disney, Coca-Cola, and Children’s Hospital.

The firm has zero tolerance for the sexual exploitation of children, and it is stepping up its efforts to protect them, according to a statement from Twitter.
More than a million Twitter accounts that promoted child sexual abuse were suspended, the social media platform said in 2018.
Additionally, the organisation “Just Data” reported that after looking at more than 500 accounts, it discovered content that promotes child sexual abuse; nevertheless, only roughly 70% of these accounts were deleted by Twitter.

Disney promised to step up its efforts to “guarantee that the digital platforms on which we advertise increase their efforts to avoid similar errors from repeating” a representative for the Japanese business Mazda told Reuters that the company “had blocked its ads from showing on Twitter.”
