Hundreds of Winnipeggers show support for protests in Iran

In a display of rage, despair, and hope for the Iranian revolt, hundreds of Winnipeggers gathered outside the Canadian Museum for Human Rights on Saturday.
A 22-year-old Iranian woman who passed away in police custody just over two weeks ago served as the catalyst for it.
Masha Amini was detained for “unsuitable apparel” by “morality police” after reportedly donning the hijab incorrectly. During her confinement, she went into a coma and passed away.

People from all walks of life flocked to the museum to hold signs, chant, sing, and dance in support of the Iranian protesters calling for independence and women’s rights.
Kiana Aryana, an immigrant from Iran, said, “It’s essential for me because it’s a movement for women.”
Iranian women, according to Aryana, who recently immigrated to Canada, identify with Amini’s unfortunate predicament.
Even I have experienced it; they arrested me 20 years ago when my hair was really long.

Amini’s passing also represents a transition in Mojgan Rezaei’s personal life, who was raised in Iran.
This time, though, was completely different, and I was filled with rage. I feel like I’m not the same person anymore, she added, adding that she had been able to see her melancholy up until now.
According to the president of the Iranian Community of Manitoba, it is hoped that the protests taking place in numerous cities across the globe would finally result in peace and security in Iran.

According to Arian Arianpour, president of the Iranian Community of Manitoba, “this is the least we can do as citizens of a free, democratic nation.”
Aryana continued, “I just pray for Iran and I want the other countries to hear our voice and be our voice.
The neighbourhood has already banded together to protest for change.
The Manitoba Legislative Building hosted a gathering of the Iranian community in Winnipeg on September 22.

Politicians were urged to take action that “does not empower the policies of Iran’s leadership,” according to protest organisers.
Including records from Rosanna Hempel.

Numerous Winnipeggers show their support for the Iranian demonstrations.
