Official data from Indonesia indicates that 125 people have died as a result of the stampede that occurred during the derby game on Java on Saturday night.
According to officials, this happened after police used tear gas to quell a riot that broke out following a soccer game in the Indonesian First Division in the province of East Java.

According to prefectural police commander Niko Aventa, the majority of the fatalities perished from a lack of oxygen following a rush after supporters flooded the field at Kanjuruhan Stadium on Saturday night as hosts Arima Malang lost to Persibaya Surabaya 3-2 in East Java.
