Ukraine officially retakes “Liman” from Russian forces

Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine, made the formal announcement that Russian soldiers had been driven out of the town of “Liman” in Donetsk, eastern Ukraine.
In a statement released today, Saturday, the Russian Defense Ministry said that its troops had left the town and were now en route to army-related locations.
While the Ukrainian Defense Ministry had earlier acknowledged that its troops had “entered that town, which is a crucial railroad junction in the country’s east.

The ministry tweeted, “Air assault forces seize Liman in the Donetsk area,” on the Twitter account.
Thousands of Russian soldiers were being “besieged” in this town in the Donetsk region, which Russia occupied on Friday, the Ukrainian army had previously declared. According to him, there are between 5,000 and 5,500 Russian forces besieged, though the number may have dropped owing to the deaths of the soldiers who made an attempt to flee.

highlighting how Lyman’s restoration will enable Kiev to push to the Lugansk region, which Moscow declared fully under its control at the beginning of July following a sluggish progress and weeks of bombing. He emphasised how crucial it is to subdue Lyman since doing so opens the door for liberating Donbass and moving past Kremena and Severodonetsk.

A big setback for Russia would result from taking control of this town, especially after President Vladimir Putin announced the annexation of the Donetsk area together with three other regions during a huge celebration in Moscow yesterday.

Position of the Russian forces in respect to the town of Liman:
The fall of Lyman would be Ukraine’s biggest field victory since its rapid offensive in the northeastern Kharkiv region last month since it is a crucial logistical hub used by Russian soldiers in northern Donetsk.
Following the counterattack in Kiev, the Russian soldiers withdrew to many locations in eastern and southern Ukraine, receiving weapons and missile systems from other nations.

“Liman” is formally retaken by Ukraine from Russian forces.
