Al-Kazemi to Iran: We refuse to take Iraq as an arena for settling accounts

Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi denounced the ongoing Iranian bombardment that has severely damaged northern Iraq today, Saturday, and emphasised that all attempts to exploit his nation as a venue for settling scores will be rejected.
He also urged action to halt Iran’s military activities in northern Iraq.
Al-remarks Kazemi’s follow Tehran’s announcement that it would keep carrying out its activities in Iraqi Kurdistan.

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard made it clear Thursday night that it will keep attacking armed organisations linked to the Iranian Kurdish resistance, which Tehran labels “terrorist,” in Iraqi Kurdistan.
In a statement, he also claimed that he had “started a series of operations against terrorist facilities and headquarters in northern Iraq, deploying all types of missiles, combat drones, and suicide drones.

Additionally, he emphasised that “these operations will continue until the disarming of terrorist groups” and urged the Iraqi and Kurdistan Regional governments to “take their obligations towards Iran as a neighbour more seriously.”
The Iranian military would reply if the Americans take any action against Iranian marches in Iraqi Kurdistan, according to Iranian Chief of Staff Mohammad Bagheri, who made the announcement today, Friday.

Additionally, the Chief of Staff stated in news releases that his nation reserves the right to respond to the Americans as soon as it is suitable.
Bagheri warned that “we will unquestionably reply to US bases in neighbouring countries if there is a hostile act against Iran’s security and interests.”

It is significant that Iranian missile and drone raids on Iraqi Kurdistan on Wednesday, where the headquarters of Iranian Kurdish resistance groups are situated, resulted in at least 13 deaths and about 50 injuries, many of them women and children.

These strikes occur amid heightened unrest in Iran, where nocturnal protests have been held every day since Mahsa Amini, 22, passed away on September 16 after being detained by the morality police.
