Woman dead, 3 others injured after head-on crash in Nova Scotia

Following a head-on incident on Thursday afternoon, a woman has passed away and three other individuals, including a child, have been taken to the hospital.
According to a press release from the Nova Scotia RCMP, approximately 3:40 p.m., police from Lunenburg, together with fire services and EHS, went to a report of an accident involving a car and SUV on Highway 10 in Pinehurst.
Officers discovered the vehicle was on fire in the road “while on their route to the site,” the press release stated.

“When our team arrived, they discovered a dead female passenger inside the SUV who was 56 years old. The SUV’s 67-year-old man driver and his four-year-old female passenger were both critically hurt and taken to the hospital.
According to the report, the 77-year-old female sedan driver was hospitalised with moderate injuries but was able to flee the flames after the crash.
According to the press statement, Highway 10 was shut down for a while but has since reopened.

The scene was visited by a collision reconstructionist, and the inquiry is still ongoing.
