White House: The time is not right for Ukraine to join NATO

According to Russia Today, US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan emphasised that Ukraine’s accession to NATO occurred at an inopportune time.
Sullivan told reporters, “At the moment, in our perspective, the best way to support Ukraine is practical support ‘on the ground,’ and the process in Brussels should start at a different time.
In addition, he emphasised that the United States does not object to NATO’s “open doors” policy.

All decisions about accession must be reached between the 30 member states and the prospective members, he continued.
After the provinces of Kherson and Zaporozhye as well as the Donetsk and Lugansk republics joined Russia earlier on Friday, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky declared Kyiv will swiftly apply to join NATO.
