South Korean President: Firm response to Pyongyang if it uses nuclear weapons

North Korea will face crushing and severe retaliation from the Seoul-Washington alliance, South Korean President Yoon Seok-yeol has warned.
Yoon said, according to South Korea’s Yonhap News Agency, that North Korea’s development of nuclear weapons is a direct challenge to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and will also make the lives of North Koreans more miserable. Yoon was speaking today to commemorate the 74th anniversary of National Military Forces Day.

Yun emphasised that the alliance between Seoul and Washington will be strengthened to counter Pyongyang’s threats despite the fact that North Korea has recently passed laws authorising the use of nuclear force, endangering the existence and prosperity of his nation.
In order to counter North Korea’s nuclear and missile threats, a three-axis system in the style of South Korea is being built, and the North’s capabilities for reconnaissance, monitoring, and targeting will be significantly improved.
