A new young woman defies the authorities in Iran… with a shaved head

Yesterday, Friday, the protest movement that began in Iran following the death of the young woman, Mahsa Amini, who was detained by the morality police, entered its third week, despite the repression that left at least 83 people dead. It appears, however, that the violence and tension of the Iranian authorities have also started to rise.

The government of the nation has resorted to putting severe limitations on all famous people, artists, and social media influencers, to the point where they are scared of seeing or hearing images or music.
The protesters have started using other tactics than coming to the streets though they still don’t seem to have been subdued.
A silent approach, which is limited to uploading a single image of a young woman without a headscarf or perhaps with wavy hair, is one of these techniques.

This is what Mino Majidi’s daughter, who was slain by police forces during protests in the Kurdish city of Kermanshah ten days ago, did. Mino was a sixty-year-old mother of three.
The young lady appeared to be holding the hair she had cut as she stood over the grave of her deceased mother while donning a shaved head, a white scarf draped over her shoulders, and a black clothing.
However, the communication sites caught fire as a result of this event.

During the last few hours, the picture of the dejected girl spread like wildfire and was shared by hundreds of Iranian activists in honour of her courageous and daring attitude, even though she was merely “quiet” in the picture.

It is noteworthy that enormous demonstrations have broken out across the nation since the young Kurdish woman Mahsa Amini died on September 16, three days after her detention by the religious police in Tehran. Her death was blamed on security, especially after x-rays revealed that she had been tortured. according to activists, for a skull fracture.

During these rallies, which are the largest since 2019, women also torched headscarves and chopped off their hair in defiance of the government.
The government, which referred to the protests as “riots spreading mayhem,” was enraged when Iranian filmmakers, athletes, artists, and actors showed their support for the demonstrators, including the national football team.
