Iran.. Revolutionary Guards intelligence chief killed in Balochistan

According to today’s, Friday, official Iranian media, an Iranian Revolutionary Guards intelligence officer was killed during skirmishes in Zahedan, Sistan and Baluchestan province, in southeast Iran.
According to the report, Colonel Seyed Ali Mousavi, the intelligence chief for the province of Sistan and Baluchestan, was wounded in the chest during an altercation in Zahedan between what he called “terrorists and opponents” and security and law enforcement officers.

Additionally, earlier today, the Iranian Ministry of Security reported the recent arrests of 77 Kurdish groups, nine foreigners, and 49 members and associates of the People’s Mojahedin Organization.

In addition, dozens of people died and were hurt as a result of the protests that broke out in various parts of Iran about two weeks ago in response to the death of Mahsa Amini, a young woman, who died while in custody after being detained by the morality police who claimed she did not follow the law regarding the veils.

Her passing sparked outrage in Iran over a number of issues, including personal freedom restrictions and stringent dress codes for women, as well as the country’s ongoing living and economic crisis. This is in addition to the strict regulations imposed by the regime and the country’s political system as a whole. Women took a significant role in those demonstrations, and demonstrators waved and torched their headscarves.

It was estimated that 1,500 people were killed (according to Reuters) in crackdowns against protesters during the recent rallies, which have spread to dozens of cities around the nation and still include people from diverse races and socioeconomic groups.
