President Vladimir Putin said Friday during a rally in Red Square in central Moscow to celebrate the annexation of four Ukrainian areas that Russia will “win” the conflict with Ukraine. The rally came after the signing ceremony for the annexation of the four counties.
To the cheers of thousands of his fans, some of whom waved Russian flags, the Russian president stated that this accession had established a new Ukraine and emphasised the fact that no one had consulted the opinions of millions of people when the Soviet Union had disintegrated.
Additionally, he said that the military campaign in Ukraine had backed the citizens’ decision to ally with Russia and urged his countrymen to show respect to those Ukrainians who had done so.
Welcome back to your country, he said in his speech as he addressed the Ukrainians who reside in the districts that he signed on joining Russia.
In a statement earlier today, Russian President Vladimir Putin emphasised that four Ukrainian regions—Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhia, and Kherson—had been formally annexed by his nation.
For the citizens’ tranquilly and safety, he committed to reconstruct those cities.
He made a point of saying that those people were now Russian citizens.
At the same time, he signalled that he was willing to put an end to the fighting and engage in talks with Kyiv.
The Kremlin master also harshly blasted the West’s “seeking hegemony” methods, reiterating that his nation is strong and resolute with its past and present while also acknowledging that the collapse of the Soviet Union is a fact that cannot be reversed.
He emphasised that the military forces will defend the country, especially the new territories, by any means possible since he believed that Western nations wanted to loot Russia’s wealth and did not want it to be strong.
He further emphasised that his nation has a history dating back more than a thousand years and will never be subject to Western dictates.
Following the lengthy speech by the Russian president, the four Moscow-loyal regional leaders signed the annexation decrees, bringing more than 15% of Ukraine’s territory under Russian control.
