Israel supports Ukraine’s territorial sovereignty and warns its citizens in Russia against military mobilization

Al-Madina News: According to a statement from the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Israel refused to acknowledge Russian President Vladimir Putin’s announcement today, Friday, to annex Ukrainian areas to Russia and reaffirmed its support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The Israeli Foreign Ministry issued a warning against military mobilisation to its people who have Russian citizenship and are present in Russia as a result of the law’s application to them.

The Israeli army also demanded that the soldiers who are dual citizens of Israel and Russia return home right away.
Israeli residents who also hold Russian citizenship should be aware of and take into consideration these directions, according to a statement from the Israeli Foreign Ministry. based on information posted on the “Walla” website.

Due to its concern that its people would not be able to leave Russia, the Israeli Foreign Ministry described this as a “warning letter” rather than a warning regarding a travel ban to Russia.
Israeli officials, as stated by Walla, claimed that “the warning letter was accepted by Prime Minister Yair Lapid and it has undergone multiple revisions owing to political sensitivity vis-à-vis Russia.

According to “Walla,” an Israeli official claimed that the army had ordered all soldiers with Russian citizenship who are currently in Russia to return to Israel immediately. The order also forbade IDF personnel with Russian citizenship from visiting Russia.

Following his declaration that Lugansk, Donetsk, Zaporozhye, and Kherson have “became Russian areas,” Putin later stated that “the choice of millions of citizens in these regions is achieved after the calamity of the fragmentation of the Soviet Union.” He repeated his call for Kiev to “immediately halt its military actions” and added that the West wants to transform Russia into a “colony.”

“Putin made his declaration during a speech in the Kremlin in the Russian capital, Moscow. This was followed by a ceremony to sign the agreements bringing the four provinces into Russia, which sparked a wide-ranging worldwide conversation as the world started to react to Moscow’s decision.

In a similar development, on Tuesday night, the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs declared that Israel “recognises the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, and will not recognise the results of referendums in the eastern provinces of Ukraine.”

Israel defends the territorial integrity of Ukraine and cautions its Russian citizens against military mobilisation.
