According to a Danish-Swedish assessment released on Friday, undersea explosions comparable to hundreds of kg of explosives caused a gas leak at four locations of the Nord Stream pipeline in the Baltic Sea.
The two nations discussed two explosions in a joint report they presented to the UN Security Council, which will conduct an emergency meeting on Friday to discuss the spill incidents at Russia’s request.
They affirmed that “the two explosions had strengths of 2. 3 and 2.

1 on the Richter scale, which would be the equivalent of hundreds of kilogrammes of explosive force.
Without pointing fingers at anyone in their letter to UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, Sweden and Denmark stated that “all available information indicates that these bombings are the consequence of a premeditated act.”
While Moscow and Washington both deny culpability for the disaster, the source and perpetrators of the explosives remain unknown.

On Monday, leak locations were found in international waters east of the Danish island of Bornholm. Two of them are situated in the Swedish and Danish exclusive economic zones, respectively.
This resulted in the appearance of bubbles with a diameter of between 200 and 900 metres on the ocean’s surface from gas pipeline leaks that were strategically located between Russia and Germany.
Moving through or flying over these places is not permitted.

The Danish-Swedish agreement states that the “Nord Stream 1” gas pipeline’s leak is anticipated to end on Sunday. It is still impossible to predict when the leak from Nord Stream 2 will stop.

Explosions amounting to “hundreds of kilogrammes” of TNT were what started the Nord Stream gas leak.
