Former Green Bay Mayor Jim Schmitt not running for fifth term

(WBAY) – Green Bay, Wisconsin Jim Schmitt, a former mayor of Green Bay, has said he will not run for re-election at this time.
In a statement on Friday, Schmitt said he was “humbled” by the support he has gotten from friends and locals to run for mayor of Green Bay for a fifth term. There had been rumours that he was thinking about running.

Although Schmitt’s future plans are still up in the air, he writes, “I do know that I will not be running for mayor at this time, but I will be ready to assist move our town forward. I adore Green Bay and its inhabitants. I’m excited to contribute to the city of Green Bay’s continued development and distinctive quality of life.
Eric Genrich, the current mayor, has declared that he will run for office again.
Former State Rep.

Documents have been submitted by Chad Weininger to oppose Genrich.
Weininger is currently Brown County’s director of administration.

Jim Schmitt, a former mayor of Green Bay, declined to run for a fifth term.
