Kuwaiti crude exports to Japan rose to 9.6 million barrels in August

According to Japanese government data released today, Friday, Kuwait became the third-largest oil exporter to Japan last August after rising to 9.60 million barrels, or 310 thousand barrels per day, the highest level in the previous 31 months.
In a preliminary report, the Agency for Natural Resources and Energy of Japan stated that oil prices to Japan increased by 68.8% over the prior year, marking the first increase in three months.

According to the agency, Kuwait supplied 10.4% of all the crude Japan imported, passing Qatar to claim third place in terms of oil suppliers.
It was observed that for the thirteenth straight month, Japan’s total crude oil imports increased to 2. 98 million barrels per day, up 9.3% on an annual basis.
A 2. 4 percentage point rise over the prior year, the Middle East’s oil exports to Japan made up 94.5% of its total exports.

According to the data, Saudi Arabia has once again surpassed the United Arab Emirates as Japan’s top oil supplier, with daily imports from the Kingdom increasing by 17.9% from the previous year to 1.19 million barrels.
The United States came in sixth with 81 thousand barrels per day, while Qatar came in fourth with 221,000 barrels per day.
After China and the US, Japan is the third-largest oil consumer in the world.

In August, Kuwait’s crude exports to Japan increased to 9.6 million barrels.
